Thanks for visiting my webpage about Metallica, there are the best band in the world no matter how much the have changed over the years. I have just started working on the page, so i am not that far, and soon, i will be providing you with mp3's and pictures, and stuff like that. So hit Ctrl D to save this page, and check back alot.
Now, is a short history of Metallica, if any of the info is worng, E-mail me, because i am really tired right now, and when im tired, my brain dosent function really good, so some of the info may be faulse information.
The band first started out with Lars Ulrich, Dave Mustaine, Ron McGrovey, and James Hetfield, but soon, Ron gave up and left the band. By that time Metallica needed a new lead gutiarest, and soon they found one, who happened to be Kirk Hammet. They played around at gigs in local pubs and bars, until they finally decided that they needed a new bass player because Dave Mustaine (formerly with Megadeth) got too drunk and violent, or somewhere along the lines of that. So they kicked him out of that band and started looking for a new bass player. Lars and Jason were at a bar one time, when they saw one of the greatest things in there life, that thrill was Cliff Burton. They tryed and tryed to get him to dump the band he was in, and join Metallica, but no luck for a while, until he gave up and said, if you come down to San Francisco, ill join. So Lars,James, and Kirk relocated to San Francisco. It was now around 1983, and Metallica had came out with there bew record called Kill "Em All. They didn't do much for a while, they played at gigs, and stuff, nothing majorly important. then 1984 cane around and Metallica decided to come out with there second album called Ride The Lightning, my favirote of there CD's. As they played at more gigs and produced more records, they grew more and more popular. The year is 1986, Metallica has now released there third album called Master Of Puppets. Master Of Puppets is a really fast album, and is my second favirote album of theres. But stardom dosent last forever for some people, like Cliff Burton. On the way to a show in 1986, when the bus driver SAYS he hit black ice, but i bet almost everyone thinks he was drunk (same with me, but i really hope that he wasent). Anyways, when he hit the "black ice" the bus filpped a couple of times, Cliff flew out of the window, and the bus landed on him. For all we know, he died on impact, and never woke up, which is good, so he never felt a thing. Then, they got a crane thingy to lift the bus up, and when they were trying, the bus landed on him once again, which really sucked, because now they knew that he had to be dead. All the other members got out of the crash with only a few bumpb and stuff like that. Now, once again, Metallica was looking for a new band member, a new bass player. The searched for a long time, and finally they found a new bassist, an that guys name was Jason Newsted. They now knew that the band was going to do ok. Jasons first album with was band ways Garage Days Re-Revisted. Jason was doing ausome, he always made everyone crazy at the concerts. Then, in 1988, Metallica came out with there 5th album called ...And Justice For All. It wasent as good as Master Of Puppets, but I would still reccomend it. For a while, Metallica dident do anything, excpt play at concerts, and again, the more the albums were dishing out, the more people got into them. Finally in 1991, they came out with there self faced album called Metallica:The Black Album, and alot of people say that that is there best album yet. I like it, but i tend to differ, i still like Ride The Lightning the best. They toured on the Black Album for (if I rember correctly) 2 years. They toured on that album alone! and for 2 years! Thats a long time. Whe they got done touring that, they took a long deserved break, and boy, i bet that they needed it. When they all got back together, they had short hair cuts, and a new attitude. People thought that Metallica was different just because they had they had short haircuts. I mean, come on, do they play any different because they got short haircuts?!?! No they dont (well, not that i know of anyways). Now, they had came out with Load, and really soon after that ReLoad, and in that same year, they came out with Garage INC (boy, those last two or three years they came out with alot of albums). But as i was saying before, the more they came out with albums, the more popular they became, well this time it wasent true. They became less popular because Load and ReLoad dosn't really sound like the metal they used to play. James dosent scream like he used to. What i mean it he screamed alot in Hit The Lights in there first album, and he bearly screams in the song Fuel, on there album ReLoad. I dont know about you guys, but Metallica is still the best bad no matter what they sound like, or how short there haircuts are.
Remember now, this is all i have for the moment, i have other webpages that have MP3's on them, just not this one(yet).
